Some excerpts from our Healthy Eating Policy:

Children who have obesity are more likely to become adults with obesity. Adult obesity is associated with increased risk of several serious health conditions including heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and cancer.

If children have obesity, their obesity and disease risk factors in adulthood are likely to be more severe (Gov.uk)

"We believe that every adult at our school can play a part in making sure that the children develop positive attitudes to food, make informed choices and enjoy eating healthily."

"The School recognises the important connection between a healthy diet and a pupil’s ability to learn effectively and achieve high standards in school. "

As a school we aim to:

"Improve the health of pupils and staff, and their families by helping to influence their eating habits through increasing their knowledge and awareness of food issues, including what constitutes a healthy and environmentally sustainable diet, and hygienic food preparation and storage methods."

"We encourage the children to eat a healthy packed lunch which includes fruit, yoghurts and starchy items such as sandwiches, baps or wraps.

No fizzy drinks cakes or chocolate are allowed in their children’s packed lunches."

What is Change4Life

Change4Life aims to ensure parents have the essential support and tools they need to make healthier choices for their families.

We know that modern life can mean we are a lot busier, less active, and more reliant on convenience and fast food than we used to be.

But that's where Change4Life comes in, helping families with fun ideas to help kids stay healthy, whether with easy recipes for busy weeknights, great sugar swaps, Disney-inspired games to get kids moving or help in understanding food labels.
