Week 9 Maths Challenges - Fractions

This week, your Maths is going to focus on Fractions.  I know you were brilliant at this last year in Year 2 so I know you'll be able to rise to the challenge for these questions.

The lessons on BBC Bitesize this week are also based around fractions so why don't you have a look and see what else you can learn!

Thursday 21st May 2020 - Adding Fractions with the same denominator.

When you add fractions that have the same denominator, you don't need to change the denominator at all and simply add the numerators together.  Here's an example and then below are some questions for you to try.

Questions for you to complete

Thursday 21st May 2020

Today's lesson on BBC Bitesize is all about making tenths so I have decided to tie in today's daily challenge with this.  There are two sections, depending on how much you want to do on tenths!

Section 1: Recognising tenths

Section 2: Modelling tenths

Wednesday 20th May 2020

Remember, the denominator (bottom number) tells you how many you have to divide the whole number by and the numerator (top number) tells you how many groups you have to count.
