A message from Miss Hand... Hi Reception, I hope you are all well and keeping safe at home.
Thank you for all your support,

Morning routine We always start our morning by talking about the date and weather. We sing the days of the week song and we discuss the date - what day was it yesterday, what day is it today...tomorrow? If yesterday was the 6th, what is today? What is one more than 6... Perhaps you can talk about the date and weather at home. There is a youtube link of the days of the week song below. |
Basic skills Today I would like you to do two things. 1. Practise reading/writing your high frequency words - I have put a link below to the high frequency word page where you will find all the sets of words. 2. Have a look at the picture - I wonder if you can write something about this picture? I wonder if you can think of your own sentence or perhaps you could write another ‘I can see’ sentence. I can see... It is up to you! If this is a bit tricky, you could have a go at writing some sounds/words. |
Basic skills - Word of the day - weep Take a look at today's word of the day! Perhaps you could have a go at the activity too. |
Collective Worship Please click on the document below to see this week's Collective Worship. Please look at Friday - the daily devotion and the Hymn practice. I have added a youtube link to the song below. |
Phonics - or We will practise our new sound 'or' today. In phonics, we do the following things: 1. Sing the alphabet song (the video below is slightly different to the one we sing at school, but the children know it). 2. Practise all of the sounds that we have learned so far. 3. Practise reading words with the previous sound in. 4. Watch a video of our new sound. 5. Practise reading words with our new sound in. We segment the sounds and blend them together to say/read the word, e.g. the word - cat - segment ---> c-a-t - blend ---> cat! 6. Practise writing the new sound (pre-cursive letter formation). 7. Practise writing words with the new sound in. |
Literacy Today we are going to continue with our story of Brown bear, brown bear. First of all, I wonder if you can you read the story with an adult? If you don't have a copy of the story at home, I have added a youtube link below.
(Writing frame can be found in the document below or you might like to draw/colour the animals and then write about them).

PE - 3 options...Pick one to do 1. Take a look at the PE home learning Athletics activity below - I wonder if you can have a go at some of these activities. 2. Cosmic Kids Yoga - Go on a safari adventure (it's a long video - you don't need to do it all, just as much as you want to). 3. PE with Joe Wicks - Again, you don't need to do it all, just as much as you want to. |
Music - To be able to identify and clap along with a steady beat. 1. Practise singing the Nursery rhyme - I'm a little Tadpole (To the tune of I'm a little tadpole). 2. Watch the video of Rosie's Walk - Can you clap along with the steady beat? |
