BBC EDUCATION PROGRAMMES IS COMING TO TOWN!
The BBC will deliver the “biggest education offer in its history” for young people as schools across the UK shut under new lockdown rules.
The BBC are going to offer young people the opportunity to watch education shows as from 11th January CBBC channel will offer three hours of programmes suitable for primary school children from 9am.
This will include...Educational programmes such as Our School, Celebrity Supply Teacher, Horrible Histories, Art Ninja and Operation Ouch will all be broadcast (some of which Miss Mapother loves - especially Horrible Histories ) Alongside your home learning - have a look at some of the programmes, I am sure you are going to love them!
Times table rockstars - your child will find it helpful to access the times table rockstars website to help them practice their times tables in a fun and stimulating way. We ask that the children try to do as much practice of their times tables at home as they can as this will really help them to be the super mathematicians that we know they all are. There will be weekly updates in class to see who has achieved what rock status so LET THE TIMES TABLE BATTLES COMMENCE!
Active learn - active learn is a brilliant website to help your child to develop their reading, phonics, grammar and spelling skills. We ask that the children spend a little time practicing their English skills on this site as it will be extremely helpful for their practice.
Read theory -
We have a new program that the children can use on any devices at home. This is called Readtheory. This website is specifically designed to their ability and uses reading texts to answer questions on a quiz. This helps with the children's reading comprehension which is really vital for their work and assessments, we hope that you can encourage them to use it in balanced amounts too! Badges can be earned and this will total to housepoints and prizes in the classroom.
