End of Spring Term

As we come to the end of Spring Term, we reflect on what has been been another strange time for the children of St Rose.  However, the last four weeks has seen us welcome all of the children back and we have really made the most of being back together by working hard, enjoying ourselves and spending time together.  Click here to see just a few of the wonderful things that Year 6 have been up to these last four weeks.

1st Advent Friday

Thank you for all of your donations today for our first Advent Friday Charity event.  You have sent in lots of great items to support the Food Bank.

As the season of Advent approaches us, in Year 6 we turn our attention to preparing for the birth of Jesus.  In our RE lessons, we will explore the season in more detail but we also want to make sure we have used the time wisely to help those around us who may be sick, in need or who simply may need a little more support because of COVID-19.

As a school, we always set aside each Friday in Advent to carry out charitable giving and this year is no different.  Each Friday will be an own clothes day and we will support a different charity each week. You will find the details of who we are supporting below, along with what you need to do to support them.

Click here to find the details of each Friday.

Let's make this Advent season special for those who need to feel Jesus' light and guidance in their life.

It can happen face-to-face or online.

We will be completing activities and class and discussing ways we can deal with difficult situations.

A prayer for peacemakers

History can inspire or trap.
Walls can protect or divide.
Words can encourage or inflame.
Power can free or destroy.
Touch can comfort or violate.
Peace can be shared or withheld.
Gracious God, on this day,
when we remember past and present conflicts,
we pray for the divided peoples of the world,
that leaders, governments and each one of us
may use our resources,
our opportunities and our lives
in the service of reconciliation,
for the sake of future generations
and to the glory of your name.

Harvest Festival

It is the time of year again when we take the opportunity to thank God for the many blessings we have in our lives. For His unconditional love for us; the access we have to food & clean water every day; for an education that prepares our children for the future; for the loving families we are a part of. Of course, life is not always great but it seems important to say thank you for the blessings that we do have… and at the same time we can be looking out for our fellow human beings who are not doing as well as us by giving a couple of cans or packets of food at Harvest time. (Or more than a couple if you are in a position to do so!) We will be celebrating Harvest Festival with the children on Wednesday 14th October. After the assembly, we will give the food we have all donated to the local food bank. As always, thank you for your much valued and needed support.

School Photographs!

The school photographer will be in school taking photos of your children and their siblings on Monday 21st September 2020
