Physical Education

Please Make sure your child comes into school in their PE Kit on Mondays. Monday is our PE day this year until further notice. 

Your child should come into school in Black Tracksuit Bottoms, Normal White polo shirt and the school Jumper. 

Forest School

In Weeks 3-6 our class will start Forest School so further information will be posted near to starting this.

Spelling Test

Please make sure you are practising spellings with your children ready for them to be tested on a Friday. this is an important aspect of Year One and will ensure good progress is being made into Year 2.

Go read and Numbots

Aside from weekly spellings it is important that you are logging if your children have read their book on go read so we can change these books weekly. Children also have Numbots homework which is set weekly. As a class we have came up with a challenge over the next week Commencing 3rd October i want every single person in our class to have practised their Numbots, Spelling and Go read to be in with a chance of cracking our locked box and winning the prizes inside! Good luck!

Phonics workshop

On the 20th October Mr Abnett and Miss Murphy will be holding a phonics workshop to show an insight on what happens in our phonics lessons. Time will be given on a text nearer to the time! Thank you and see you soon. 

Nativity

Please can we have all Christmas Jumpers in school ready to practice our Nativity by the 9th December 2022. Performances are Monday 12th at 2pm and Tuesday 13th at 9:30am. You should of been given a ticket at parents evening please ask Mr Abnett or Miss Plant if you have not received a ticket.

Please make sure all children are practicing their lines ready to go!

Christmas Jumper Day

On Wednesday 14th December 2022. This will be Christmas Jumper and Christmas lunch too.

Phonics After School Club

If you have received a letter for our Phonics after school club please can these letters be brought into school by Friday 21st April. This will start on Monday 24th April 2023 3:30-4:20.

Phonics screening test QnA

On Thursday 18th May there is a phonics screening QnA with myself and Miss Murphy. This will start at 9am and finish at 9:30. The phonics test will take place around the 12th June. 

Trip

On Monday 17th July Year 1 will be going on a trip to the Black Country Living Museum. Letters have been sent out so if they can be returned that would be great! The cost of the trip is £16 and will take place during the school day with normal pick up times at the end of the school day. If you have any questions please ask either Mr Abnett or Miss Plant.
