Online Safety Week 2023 6.2.2023
This week ( Week 6) marks Online Safety Week here at St Rose. This is an extremely important event in our school calendar were each year we aim to raise awareness of online issues and safety online and while using technology. This week, we will be focusing on the theme of ' Want to talk about it? Making space for conversations online.' We are celebrating by putting children's voices at the heart of this week and encouraging them to talk about the online safety knowledge and support they know and receive and how to use technology responsibly and safely.
To mark this event we will be having an assembly led by The Lighthouse Group and special online safety workshops in the parish hall. The children will also be having online safety lessons in class and will focus on a variety of topics such as cyberbullying, data and privacy, online reputation etc. Please don't forget there will also be an Online Safety Parent Workshop on Wednesday 15th February at 2pm.
By clicking on the image link below you will go to our Computing page. When you scroll down, you will see an Online Safety section, which has lots of resources about Online Safety for both children and parents. There is lots of information, quizzes, resources and games for you and your child to read and enjoy. Please make sure you continue to talk about the importance of online safety in the ever changing and technologically advanced world that we live in.

KS1 and Early Years Nativity
The school’s Christmas KS1 and Early Years Nativity for Nursery, Reception and Year One will take place on Monday 12th December and Tuesday 13th December 2022 in the school hall. You are able to choose either 2 tickets for one performance, or 1 for Tuesday’s performance and 1 for Wednesday’s performance.
Tickets for the performance were given out at Parents Evening and all parents should now have tickets for the performance. If you do not yet have tickets, or have any questions regarding this please come and see Miss Murphy as soon as possible.
The performances are at the following times:
Monday 12th December – 2pm
Tuesday 13th December – 9.30am
For the nativity each class has been designated a specific role that they will focus on. Nursery will be farm animals during the performance we would like them to be dressed in farm animal fancy dress or farm animal onesies.
We need the children to be comfy in their animal costumes as they will be performing a dance. It is important that we have the children are dressed as animals that might have been present at the nativity - therefore please only send your children in farm animal costumes such as cows, pigs, donkeys, ducks, sheep etc- we do not want any dinosaurs or unicorns please!
It would be greatly appreciated if costumes could be found and sourced from home for the performance. ALL costumes will need to be brought in on the Monday 5th December (a week before the first performance), so that we have all of them ready for the dress rehearsals and final shows. If you cannot source a farm animal costume, please come and talk to me and we will see what we can do.
You can see a downloadable copy of the nativity letter we sent out to you below, which has further information. Thank you for all your continued support- the children can't wait for you to see the performance!
