Monday 18th January

MONDAY DAILY REGISTER

Good morning from me!

Hi Year 5, I hope you had a good weekend and are ready and raring to go this week!

This week, you may notice that a few things look slightly different.  This is because we have a new teacher called Mr Henrick in Year 5 and he is preparing some of your lessons.  He'll be with us for 8 weeks and I'll arrange some 'get to know you activities' over the course of this week so that you can get to know him, and he can get to know you as well.  Don't panic - I'll still be here and will be available via email or J2 message to answer any questions or simply if you want to say hello!

This is your final week on fractions in Maths (phew!), you'll look at chapter 1 of Stitch Head today and you have your final lesson in the Christmas Unit in RE.

Well done to everyone who completed their spellings and Big Maths test.  The results are now live for you to see.

Have a great Monday!

LITURGICAL ASSEMBLY WITH MR CARROLL

Start your day today by watching the liturgical assembly that Mr Carroll has made.  The assembly focuses on yesterday's Gospel where John the Baptist calls Jesus the 'Lamb of God'.  In Year 5, we have already explored the role of John the Baptist during our Advent lessons and will continue to look at his role in Jesus' life through our Baptism unit this half term.

The assembly lasts for 5 minutes so I would highly recommend you use this time to settle down and reflect on the week ahead.  Click on the image to access the video.

SPACE WEEK ON CBEEBIES

At the same time that you begin a new Science topic on Space this week, CBeebies are also having a Space Week in conjunction with the National Space Centre.  Each day, they have different programmes that you might want to access to extend your learning on Space.  I know it's CBeebies, so some of it may be a bit young for you, but it's worth checking out just in case.

Today it's Rockets with Maddie Moate at 4.50pm.  Click here to watch it.
