Good morning Reception!
How are you all today? I hope you all had a really lovely weekend and that you managed to get outside in the sunshine. What lovely weather we have had. Spring is definitely on the way! This is our last week of home learning. I want to say a huge well done to you ALL for your hard work during these last few weeks. You really should be very proud of yourselves. Mrs. Barnett can't wait to see you all and I'm sure you're really looking forward to seeing all of your friends too.
Take care, Miss Hand and Mrs. Barnett

We always start our morning by talking about the date and weather. We sing the days of the week song and we discuss the date - what day was it yesterday, what day is it today...tomorrow?
Yesterday was the last day in February - it was the 28th of February. Today is the start of a new month. Do you know what month comes after February? If it is the start of a new month, what is the date today? What will be the date tomorrow? What is one more than...
Perhaps you can talk about the date and weather at home. There is a youtube link of the days of the week song and a themonths of year song below.

1. Practise writing your name - If you can already do this, have a go at your surname or even your middle name if you have one.
2. Simple sentence - I wonder if you can write something about the picture? I wonder if you can think of your own sentence or perhaps you could write another ‘I can see’ sentence. I can see...
It is up to you! If this is a bit tricky, you could have a go at writing some sounds/words.
3. Word of the day - Take a look at today's word of the day and have a go at the activity if you are able to.
Today we are starting a new story. This week's story is the The Enormous Turnip. There will be a little activity each day linked to the story! I have added the story below (plus a youtube link) and all the other resources you will need in one document. Today I would like you to read the story and then have a go at sequencing the story using key pictures from the story. I wonder if you can retell the story using the key pictures? Think about the key language in the story. Enjoy!
Today's end of the day story - Eat your peas! I hope you enjoy it!

World Book Day - Thursday 4th March
A reminder that it is World Book Day this Thursday. Miss Elliott has created an Art Challenge linked to this day. I wonder if you can create a collage of your favourite book character using different materials. See the picture below - Enjoy!
