Online Learning at Home

We have sent home your child's online login details ( usernames and passwords) for useful websites that your child can use and access at home to aid their learning. In Year One all of these websites are an essential and extremely useful as part of your child's weekly homework as they will help with their number/ Maths  and Phonics/ Reading fluency. The children also have their login QR code for BGFL so that the children can access the blog at home for if they want to post any homework or home learning. Please let me know if you have any problems accessing these websites and I will try to sort the problem for you as quickly as possible.

Big Maths helps them to recall number facts quickly in their learn its test and practise their skills for their CLIC test on Friday.

Numbots helps children with their sums and with counting and recognising numbers. This is very Year One friendly and helps children to improve their Maths fluency, place value and to recall addition and subtraction facts.

Times Table Rockstars helps them to become more fluent with their times tables.  By the end of year 1, the children should be able to count on 2's, 5's and 10's  so daily practise will help them with this.

Active Learn  has access to thousands of online reading books to help the children practice their Phonic sounds and become fluent readers. The more books they read the quicker they will progress in their reading so you need to be using and accessing this website regularly.

Reading eggs is the online reading program that helps children learn to read. It has hundreds of online reading lessons, phonics games and books for ages 2-13. Reading Eggs makes learning to read interesting and engaging for children, with great online reading games and activities.

Children can use their QR codes to log onto BGFL, where they can access the class blog ( j2bloggy.) Children can then upload homework to the blog if they wish. They may also want to blog to tell me about their weekend or something exciting that has happened to them!
