WEEKLY OUTDOOR ACTIVITY
W/C 13th July 2020
This is a great lesson for looking at the natural colours that can come from items outdoors. You will need a little bit of plain white cloth (maybe an old T-Shirt that is too small), a piece of kitchen roll, a rolling pin (or something that can squash) and any products that you can collect such as grass, berries, wild flowers, leaves etc. Pictures on the blog please.
W/C 6th July 2020
For this challenge you are to go outside and collect some leaves, flowers, sticks and stones to make various objects and shapes with. Then you're to make a flower and leaf necklace followed by some shapes using a small amount of the sticks and stones. Pictures on the blog please.
w/c 29th June 2020
For this challenge there are two parts. The first is that you make your own natural paintbrush. The second is that you use the paintbrush to do a leaf/flower collage. You will need to go outside to complete the tasks and will need paint and a piece of paper. Please put up on the blog your pictures.
w/c 22nd June 2020
For this challenge you're going on a bird hunt. You need to go for a walk (which includes an area with trees) and then try to identify the birds. There is then an activity sheet to complete based on what you found. There is also extra j2stars for a fact file on the three most common birds you saw. Happy bird watching!
w/c 15th June 2020
Now that the trees are in full bloom I would like you to go on a nature walk and see how many of these leaves you can find. Then I want you to do a crayon rubbing of the leaf and create a poster.
w/c 8th June 2020
Keeping with our Music theme. What can you hear out of the window?
Try and recreate the noise with your body and things around the house. Make a film and put on the blog.
w/c 1st June 2020
In the local area see what you can find to fill in this worksheet. Put it on the blog for the extra j2stars as it's one of my challenges.

There are lots of different websites that you can visit to get some ideas for outdoor activities.
As the weather is still good, it's an ideal time to be getting outside so today's online recommendation comes from the Wildlife Trust. If you go to their website, they have lots of different ideas for you to do outside from making bird feeders to making a leaf tile, building a bird's nest to making an edible pond. Click here to visit their website and see what you can do!
If you have a garden, now is the time to get outside and enjoy the sunshine and the Children's Gardening Week have some fun activities that you could try. The Gardening Week takes place from 23rd - 31st May but there are plenty of things that you could start now. Click here to see the activities they have.
