Forest School clothing
Children need to be dressed appropriately for the environment they will be working in and the changing weather conditions.
For Forest School sessions each Wednesday, children will not come to school in their normal uniform. Instead they will need to wear...
- Old, warm clothes that you do not mind your child getting dirty e.g. an old pair of tracksuit bottoms, warm jumper or sweatshirt, woolly hat, gloves and a scarf.
- An old, warm waterproof coat, wellies and socks.
- Please also ensure that your child comes into school with a labelled plastic carrier bag containing a pair of wellington boots and a pair of warm long socks. These can be kept in school if you would prefer. They should come to school wearing their normal school shoes, but with their wellies in the bag.
Please ensure that absolutely everything is labelled with your child’s name
(first and last). If a jumper goes missing, but it doesn’t have a name, then we might not be able to find the right one. This includes book bags, lunch boxes and also shoes/wellies.
If you would like to send your child in with a named water bottle each day you are welcome to do so.
In Reception children are entitled to a free school meal. Please inform the school if your child has any special dietary needs/allergies. At the moment children are being provided with a packed lunch from school.
If you would prefer your child to bring a lunch box to school, please inform the office. A reminder that if your child is bringing a packed lunch to school, there must not be any food items containing nuts. There are several children in the school with nut allergies. Please cut small round items such as cherry tomatoes and grapes in half to reduce the risk of choking. Packed lunches should not contain chocolate and crisps. We encourage the children to make healthy choices and appreciate your support with this.
If you would like to share a 'magic moment' which has happened outside of school time, please fill in a slip and send it back into school. We can share this with your child's classmates and it will be added as evidence to your child's Early Learning Goal journal.
Your child will receive this once during their time in Reception. Please try to think of a prayer together at home and record it in the prayer book. We ask that you try to think of something to thank God for and let your child contribute by drawing a picture/writing.
Everywhere Bear bag
Your child will receive this once during their time in Reception. This is an opportunity for your child to take the Everywhere bear home and record what they have done at the weekend with the bear! Photos and a little note to update us will be great way for your child to share their news with their classmates.
