Sound booklets

Your child will soon be bringing home their very own sound booklet. This will consist of sounds to learn, words to learn (with these sounds in) and sometimes ‘high frequency words' too. In the mean time, please find a list of the sounds and words your child will be learning each week at school below (All sounds and words document).

It would really help your child to practise reading the sounds and words for 5 minutes each day.

At the beginning of the year your child will be 'sounding out' words, e.g.  s-a-t ----> sat,

but the aim is that your child will be able to read these words fluently without having to 'sound them out'. Your child will be able to use their ‘robot arms’ to sound out words.
