Star of the Week

Friday 17th June

This week's star is Salimata. Salimata completes all her homework regularly and she brings in extra Maths to show she's doing her basic skills. She also tries hard in her reading and is taking pride in her handwriting. Well done Salimata.

 

Friday 10th June

This week's star is Jasmine. Jasmine has been working so hard on her reading and this has shown in her recent assessments where she has made huge progress. Well done Jasmine and keep up with the reading for pleasure throughout the summer holidays! 

 

Friday 27th May

This week's star is Nazila. She has shown excellent effort in her attitude towards improving her handwriting. This has been evident in how she is taking her time and effort in all her writing activities. It is beautiful in style! Well done Nazila and keep it up!

 

Friday 20th May

This week's star is Kaiven. He has shown a real maturity recently in both his attitude to work and his behaviour. He has engaged fully in all the lessons, is keen to demonstrate his understanding and been very caring with children when they have felt unwell. It has been a delight to see him strive to demonstrate what he can do! Well done Kaiven.

 

Friday 13th May

This week's star is Ebony. She is a star for her enthusiasm for reading. She is fantastic at bringing in her reading book everyday and she uses her phonics to decipher words she is unsure of. We can see real progress in her reading and know with her self determination she will achieve the best she can!  Well done Ebony.

 

Friday 6th May

This week's star is Riley. He adores reading and this is evident in his well-developed vocabulary both in how he speaks and in his story writing. He has a vivid imagination and produced an excellent persuasive letter based on 'The Day the Crayons Quit' story. Impressive ability, Riley!

 

Friday 29th April

This week's star is Siah. We have been very impressed with her progress in her Maths. She has been working with Miss Lucas and she has really taken the basic skills she's been revisiting and applied the knowledge in the classroom. She is getting quicker at her arithmetic and she's keen to show her answers in Big Maths! Well done, Siah and keep it up!!

 

Friday 8th April

This week's star is Sophia. She is so hard working, enthusiastic and keen to learn that she has made excellent progress in all her assessments. She is particularly trying hard to improve her handwriting and her reading is beautiful, fluent and expressive. A lovely member of Year 2.

 

Friday 1st April

This week's star is Ella-Mae. She is the star for her enthusiasm for Tinkercad to even doing extra computer designing at home! She has also made excellent progress in her handwriting and in her Maths reasoning. Brilliant work ethic!

 

Friday 25th March

This week's star is Isabella. She is so determined to succeed in everything she does and is making excellent progress. Her writing is imaginative and she has been star writer for her character description of the Snorklum.

 

Friday 18th March

This week's star is Reuben. He is our star for his consistent hard work in every subject. He contributes in all lessons and is always keen to extend his understanding through his own research and completing challenges. He is a well behaved, delightful member of Y2.

 

Friday 11th March

This week's star is Emilia. She is our star for her fantastic grasp of spelling, wonderful understanding of vocabulary and superb presentation in her books. She's making outstanding progress.

 

Friday 4th March

This week's star is Jasmine. She is our star for making a conscious effort to work hard on her reading. As a result, she is more fluent and can recall the many of the meanings of the vocabulary used in class. Super star!

 

 

Friday 18th February

This week's star of the week is Mark. He is a star for his lovely work in the prayer bag journal which showed how much time he and his family spent praying for us all. A superb effort.

 

Friday 11th February

This week's star of the week is Lola. She is the star for fantastic attitude to reading. She's keen, been practising at home and grasping her phonics confidently. Brilliant effort!

 

Friday 4th February

This week's star of the week is Gia. She is the star for growing in confidence in all subject areas. She contributes in all lessons and is a happy, smiley member of the class. She is working so hard and it is showing in her ability. Fantastic effort Gia and keep it up!

 

Friday 28th January

This week's star of the week is Leo. He has been really supportive of his work partner in computers and also produced a super recount of the Baptism of Jesus. He is really trying hard with his learning and his perseverance is paying off. Well done Leo!

 

Friday 21st January 

This week's star of the week is Matilda. She has been really impressing us with her active attitude to learning. She is really keen to understand, willing to ask questions and tries hard to complete work (even in her own time). Well done Matilda!

 

Friday 14th January

This week's star of the week is Leila. She has gained the star for her self-determination to succeed. She asks if she's not sure and is keen to learn and better herself. She is a delightful member of the class.

 

Friday 10th December

This week's star of the week is Ezamay. She has gained the star for fantastic effort in Maths. She has really grasped fractions in Maths and has been excellent at explaining how the equal parts of halves, quarters and thirds. A wonderful member of Year 2!

 

Friday 3rd December

This week's stars are the whole of Year 2 for completing their phonics check and doing their best. We are so proud of them all!

 

Friday 26th November

This week's star of the week is Emmanuel. He has gained the star for his outstanding piece of work on miracles in RE. He recalled the story of the healing of the blind man from independent research. A superstar effort!

 

Friday 19th November

This week's star of the week is Lacey-Mai. She has gained the star for her progress in reading. She has moved up a level this week as she is showing a fantastic understanding of the vocabulary of the text and is using expression to make the characters come alive as she reads them. Absolutely brilliant effort!

 

Friday 12th November

This week's star of the week is Soela. She has gained the star for Ebook on Space that she has created in our ICT lessons. She has used painted images, added text (through research) and included extra pages. She has used her learnt knowledge to create a superb piece of work. Well done!

 

Friday 5th November

This week's star of the week is Andrew. He has gained the star for his amazingly accurate map of the school he drew from memory. It was insightful and show's he is a natural cartographer.

This week's star of the week is Ciara-Lily She has gained the star for her fantastic effort in all her work that has been shown in her progress in her assessments. A well-behaved, friendly member of Year 2.

 

Friday 15th October

This week's star of the week is Ayay. She has gained the star for fantastic effort in Maths. She listens intently, follows methods and perseveres until succeeds. A brilliant member of Y2!

 

Friday 8th October

This week's star of the week is Derry. She has gained the star for trying to befriend the new child in Y1, for being helpful to others and trying hard with her work at all times. Delightful child. 

 

Friday 1st October

This week's star of the week is Lucas. He has gained the star for his readiness for work, excellent effort in Maths and for general super learning across the whole of Y2. Fantastic attitude, Lucas. 

 

Friday 24th September

This week's star of the week is Jenilia. She is the star for all her fantastic effort in every piece of work she produces. Jenilia has a sensible approach to trying (even if it's hard) showing a strong determination to succeed in Y2. Brilliant!

 

Friday 17th September

This week's star of the week is Jacob. We have chosen Jacob for his outstanding enthusiasm for learning and being a caring member of the class. An impressive start to Y2. Well done Jacob!
