Thursday 4th February
Morning greeting
Good morning Nursery. Today's learning will focus on making actions for the story and sorting shapes. You have also been challenged to make your own "silly soup". I know how much you all enjoy doing this at school. I hope you have been enjoying our end of the day stories. They have all been chosen to help you think and talk about how you feel.
Morning routine
Collective worship
On Monday, we watched the story of Jesus calming the storm. Today I have given you a template of a cloud. Just as the clouds in the storm were scary for the disciples sometimes we can feel scared. Just like the disciples, we can put our faith in God to support us when we are scared. You can write your own prayer with a grown up on the cloud and colour it in grey if you like. You may also like to write a prayer for someone else who is experiencing a "storm" in their own life at the moment.
Maths
Shape sorting activity sheet. There are some more complex shapes on here too. You don’t have to do these but if you are confident you might like to try and sort these too.
Phonics
Using either rhyming objects or the cards you made earlier in the week, children make a rhyme soup in the bowl, singing a song to reinforce the rhyme.
I’m making lots of silly soup
I’m making soup that’s silly.
I’m going to cook it in the fridge
To make it nice and chilly.
In goes…
All objects and pictures should rhyme. The goal is developing awareness of rhyme, not judging or generating rhyme.
Art
This lesson is all about recognising a local sculpture. Look through the powerpoint together and then draw your own version of a sculpture from Birmingham. I would love to see some pictures of these of the blog.
