TIMES TABLES
In Year 4, we are expected to learn ALL of our times tables in order to pass the multiplication test at the end of the year. It is a big task but we will rise to the challenge! To find out our approach to the times tables test, please open the document below.
Times Table Test Practise
This activity exactly mirrors the 'Multiplication Tables Check' that will be given to children at the end of Year 4. They are tested on their multiplication tables up to 12 x 12. There are twenty-five questions and children have six seconds to answer each question and three seconds between questions. The questions are generated randomly using the same rules as the 'Multiplication Tables Check'
OTHER WEBSITES & RESOURCES TO SUPPORT:
HIT THE BUTTON
This website is great for practising your times tables, especially if there's a particular one that you are struggling with. You can choose which times tables you want to practise and whether you want to hit the answers or the questions (if you want to challenge yourself). Not only is this website great for times tables, but also halving and doubling if you are struggling with that. Click on the image to play.
As you know, here at St Rose we love a challenge and TT Rockstars is the perfect way to challenge ourselves. Mrs Edgington often creates battles between houses, year groups, boys Vs. girls, etc. This is one of the best ways to practise your times tables as you are basically just playing a really fun game with your friends - it doesn't even feel like practising! We recommend that you play 20 minutes everyday. Click on the image to play.
SPEED TABLES
If you are unable to access any of these websites at home, speed tables can be a really effective way of practising. Time yourself and each time you do a speed table, try to beat your time! You can download a version below, or ask myself to print one off for you.
