Tuesday 23rd February
Morning greeting
Good morning and welcome to a new term Nursery! Hopefully it won't be too long until we're all learning together in school but until then we've got lots of fun learning activities lined up for you. As we weren't in school for Shrove Tuesday (also know as Pancake Day) we are going to reading a pancake filled story about a mischievous wolf. Remember that if you need a paper pack these are available from the office but please do email or call to let us know that you will be doing this.

Morning routine
Collective worship
This week's collective worship is all about the story of creation. Please look at the document below to find out more.
Assembly
Literacy
As we weren’t in school on Shrove Tuesday (also known as Pancake Day) we will be reading a story all about a hungry wolf making some pancakes this week.
Watch the story below.
Task – Today’s task is to use a key pancake ingredient, flour, to write your name in. You could also use sugar, rice or shaving foam to do this.
Maths
This week’s maths activities are all linked to counting and number sense.
Hold up five fingers, a giant dotty dice or a large numeral and ask the children to show you that number in different ways. Put out lots of different things which children can use to show the numbers, including countable items like conkers, small world toys, large blocks and multilink, dot images like dice and dominoes, things in packs like egg boxes and crayon cartons, and number symbols including number lines. You can find even more detail about the activity here https://nrich.maths.org/content/id/12747/ShowMe.pdf
Phonics
Our phonics focus this week is on voice sounds.
Explore different mouth movements with children – blowing, sucking, tongue
stretching and wiggling. Practising these movements regularly to music can be fun and helps children with their articulation
RE
Discuss the PowerPoint together and paint or draw someone who cares for you.
