VE day - Victory in Europe Day
What is VE Day?
On 8th May, the UK will commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE Day. It stands for 'Victory in Europe Day' and marks when the Second World War ended in Europe, on 8th May 1945.
On 8 May 1945, Prime Minister Winston Churchill made an announcement on the radio at 3pm that the war in Europe had come to an end, following Germany's surrender the day before.
This year marks the 75thAnniversaryof VE Day.
On Friday 8thof May we want to come together (virtually) to remember such an important moment in British history. It's a time to celebrate 😊
Below, are a number of activities for you to do over this Bank Holiday weekend.
Keep safe, stay home and enjoy celebrating with your family.
