How are you all today? It was lovely to speak to some of you yesterday on the phone. If I couldn't get through to you, I will try again tomorrow or on Thursday. Well done for all your hard work at home and on the blog. Please continue to post on the blog if you are able to. I am loving seeing your photos/videos and messages!
The link will take you to a video which Miss Murphy has created to help with accessing/posting on the blog.
I hope this helps!
Remember, if at any time you have any queries about the home learning or if you need any support, please send me an email to the address below - stroseR@olstrose.bham.sch.uk

A reminder of useful games/websites/apps - click on the picture to see more
Numbots - This is a great game online which focuses on basic skills in maths. You should have your log ins at home, but please email me on the address above if you need them again.
ActiveLearn - This website has lots of ebooks for you to read at home. This would be great to use as you don't have your school reading books at the moment! Obviously still continue to read any books that you have at home too.
J2blast - This is a spelling game that you can find on BGFL - there isn't a link to this, just find the app on BGFL. Each week I will post a new set of spellings for you to practise spelling. You can of course play the games as much as you want to and you may want to learn additional words!
Teach your monster how to read - If you haven't already downloaded this app, it's a great one to help with phonics at home. Lots of games to play to help learn the phonic sounds.
The website/computer version is free!
We always start our morning by talking about the date and weather. We sing the days of the week song and we discuss the date - what day was it yesterday, what day is it today...tomorrow? If yesterday was the 12th, what is today? What is one more than 12... Perhaps you can talk about the date and weather at home. There is a youtube link of the days of the week song below.

1. Handwriting - I wonder if you can practise writing this sentence - The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. (document below). It uses all the letters in the alphabet, so it is really useful!
2. Have a look at the 'I can see document' below. Take a look at Day 3.
I wonder if you can write something about this picture? I wonder if you can think of your own sentence or perhaps you could write another ‘I can see’ sentence. I can see... It is up to you! If this is a bit tricky, you could have a go at writing some sounds/words.
3. Word of the day - Take a look at the document of slides below. Take a look at Day 3and complete the activity!
Please click on the document below to see this week's Collective Worship. Please look at Wednesday -
1.) Daily devotion. 2.) I wonder question.
Today we are continuing our new story of The Gingerbread Man.
I have added the story powerpoint below and all the other resources you will need in one document.
Today I would like you to read the story and then have a go at matching the word or sentence to the picture. If the word is tricky, have a look at the initial (first) sound in the word. You also have a story word mat which can support you. You don't need to do them all, just do as many as you can.
Today I would like you to take a look at the document of slides below and have a go at the sketching activity if you are able to. Today's lesson is all about sculptures in Birmingham where we live. I wonder if you recognise any of them.
Today's end of the day story - The Very Hungry Caterpillar! I hope you enjoy it!
