J2blast (Spelling game app) Something new for you today/this week while you are learning at home, but also for you to continue to use when we are back at school. J2blast is a great online learning app for you to enjoy! I know that Luke has already been going on this, which is great. I am going to assign a set of spellings for you to learn and practise spelling on the game each week. This week you should be able to find a set of ‘d’ spellings. These are phase 2 spellings and so all the words have sounds in that we have already learned. You can find this app on your BGFL account. |

Morning routine We always start our morning by talking about the date and weather. We sing the days of the week song and we discuss the date - what day was it yesterday, what day is it today...tomorrow? If yesterday was the 5th, what is today? What is one more than 5... Perhaps you can talk about the date and weather at home. There is a youtube link of the days of the week song below. |
Basic skills Today I would like you to do two things. 1. Practise writing numbers from 0-10. 2. Have a look at the picture - I wonder if you can write something about this picture? I wonder if you can think of your own sentence or perhaps you could write another ‘I can see’ sentence. I can see... It is up to you! If this is a bit tricky, you could have a go at writing some sounds/words. |
Basic skills - Word of the day - pain Take a look at today's word of the day! Perhaps you could have a go at the activity too. |
Collective Worship Please click on the document below to see this week's Collective Worship. Please just look at the daily devotion for Tuesday and the Bible song. I have added a youtube link below of the song for you to sing along with. |
Phonics - ee We will practise our new sound 'ee' again today. In phonics, we do the following things: 1. Sing the alphabet song (the video below is slightly different to the one we sing at school, but the children know it). 2. Practise all of the sounds that we have learned so far. 3. Practise reading words with the previous sound in. 4. Watch a video of our new sound. 5. Practise reading words with our new sound in. We segment the sounds and blend them together to say/read the word, e.g. the word - cat - segment ---> c-a-t - blend ---> cat! 6. Practise writing the new sound (pre-cursive letter formation). 7. Practise writing words with the new sound in.
We are going to review all the sounds learned so far and then start from the ee sound again. Even though we did look at this in school just before Christmas, it would be a good idea to refresh this sound. |
Maths - Number bonds to 5 For the next 2 days we are learning all about number bonds to 5. Number bonds are simply the pairs of numbers that make up a given number. Number bonds can also be called number partners or number pairs. Number bonds are a very important foundation for understanding how numbers work. Number bonds create fluency for composing and decomposing numbers for addition and subtraction, e.g. 5 + 0 = 5 4 + 1 = 5 3 + 2 = 5 We are going to explore finding number bonds to 5 using part part whole models. Please take a look at the document of slides below. 1. There are teach/talk slides - Look at the pictures and use the questions to talk about them. 2. There are also focus activities - activities to be completed. 3. There are extra resources below that you can access if you so wish. |
Little Big Maths Please take a look at the powerpoint for this week. These are basic skills you can keep practising throughout the week. |
Religious Education - To know that the Wise Men also visited baby Jesus. Please take a look at the slides below and have a go at the focus task. Added extra - I have added some word mats below. You might like to have a go at drawing some pictures from the story and labelling them or writing a simple sentence about it. |
End of the day story Today's end of the day story - Oi Dog! I hope you enjoy it! |
