An important feature of Our Lady and St. Rose School is the support that parents give to wearing our school uniform. Uniform gives the children a sense of belonging and pride about being part of the Our Lady & St Rose of Lima community and it prevents comparisons being made between one child's clothes and another. 

We require your co-operation in the school’s dress code and provision of the school uniform. Please ensure all personal items are clearly labelled with the child's name.

Combined School & PE Girls’ and boys’ uniform (All Year groups)

• Royal blue V-neck sweat shirt / cardigan with school badge and gold stripe, white polo T-shirt, plain black joggers (NOT leggings), plain black trainers/shoes, suitable for all weathers.
• There will be no exceptions to plain black trainers and joggers:
  • • children who come in patterned/logoed trainers will be loaned a pair of school pumps
    • Children who come in patterned/logoed joggers (or if they wear leggings) will be loaned some plain joggers for the day.

• Additional summer options:  Royal blue sweat-cardigan with school badge and gold stripe, blue gingham summer dress, plain black/grey school shorts (not PE shorts).
• A School Reading Bag

Enrichment: (Including Forest School & Spade to Fork). Focus on developing the children’s learning and enjoyment of education, through developing the curriculum and the use of the “outside classroom” – enjoying all seasons.

For outdoor learning activities the children will need to be equipped with climate appropriate apparel: eg.                                         1. Appropriate footwear. SEASONAL!!!

                                    2. A warm waterproof coat, with hood.

Why are we having a combined school and PE uniform?

As already stated in this policy it is our belief that our school uniform leads to a sense of belonging and pride. It is a statement that we belong to the community of Our Lady & St Rose.

In no way are we diluting this message nor is it our intention to be more “informal”. Rather, it is our intention to ensure that we give our children not only the very best in educating the mind but the body and soul as well.

To this end we continue to promote and develop a curriculum that allows/encourages teachers to be outside and “on the go” as much as possible. We are an outdoor learning school, out in ALL weathers, which is why it is SO important for our children to come dressed appropriately for all weathers.

Also, we have timetabled “Active 15” sessions in an effort to further improve the fitness and concentration of our children.

Please Note:

• Trainers, joggers and shorts must be plain with no stripes, logos or patterns.
• No boots or heels are to be worn during the school day.
• There will be sanctions for not adhering to the school policy.

Most of the above uniform is available from the school office. Please ensure that you order this uniform in good time to get the sizes you require. (The following process were correct as of 24^th February 2021).

Plain black joggers and trainers are widely available from stores and online.
