Homework
Homework
In Year 4, children have a few important pieces of homework each week to help them with their learning:
1. Reading – Children should read their reading book daily and log this on Boom Reader. Regular reading really makes a difference!
2. Spellings – The children will have brought home spellings to learn for the whole half-term. These will be tested on Friday each week. As well as practising to write the spellings out on paper, the children can also use the j2blast spelling app on BGfL (spelling game using the weekly spellings). Please see our spellings page.
3. Maths practice –
A. Times Tables Rockstars (TTRS): Children should practise for at least 10 minutes a day. As well as playing in the garage, your child can do a ‘soundcheck’. This is a mock version of the Year 4 MTC similar to Maths Frame.
B. Maths Frame: This is a mock version of the Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check (MTC). Please encourage your child to use this as often as possible. Maths Frame can be accessed via BGfL or by using the following link:
For more information about the Multiplication Tables Check, please see our MTC page.
Thank you for your continued support in helping the children with their learning at home. Together we can make Year 4 a really successful year!
