We are very lucky to have a team of librarians at St Rose who are dedicated to encouraging the children of our school to love reading. Children from Years 1, 2, 4, 5 and 6 volunteer their time once a week in the library. They work tirelessly to keep our library clean and tidy, whilst also working on different projects relating to reading. Each librarian has been allocated to a team with a particular key stage focus.
Our library features a wide range of books from fiction to non-fiction and our librarians regularly display books around a particular theme from Remembrance to Our Common Home, Science to Christmas - our librarians try to find both fictional and non-fictional books to represent the theme.
As a team, they are split into smaller sub-teams to cover EYFS, KS1, LKS2 and UKS2. Another responsibility they have is to dive into some of the fantastic new books that are featured in our library and prepare a book recommendation to share with the parents and the rest of the school. These are featured in the weekly parent bulletins to encourage other children to choose their book, next time they're in the library. Scan the QR codes below to listen to some of their recommendations.
