Star of the Week
Year 5 Star of the Week
Every Friday, a new 'Star of the Week' is born in Year 5 so check back each week to see who our new shining star is!
Autumn 2 Week 4
Our star of the week this week is the step-tastic... Siah
This week, our star of the week focus has been being active. The week has been a dedicated ‘Moki Active Week’ so we have been looking for someone who never stops. We were not surprised when Siah achieved the most steps as she is constantly on-the-go and always takes the opportunity to move, particularly during the daily active sessions. She amassed an amazing 14,400 steps on her MOKI day, the highest in the class.
We are very proud of Siah as she’s not only active in terms of moving, but also with regards to her learning. She always tries really hard in the lessons and this is what makes her a great member of Year 5!
Autumn 2 Week 3
Our star of the week this week is the superb... Andrew
This week, our star of the week focus has been presentation. The children had the chance to exercise their democratic vote by voting for the person whose handwriting has improved the most. It was wonderful to hear the cheers when they saw Andrew’s most recent piece of work, so it was no surprise when he won the vote for most improved handwriting. As a teaching team, we were delighted as we have been astounded by the change in his handwriting. Well done Andrew!
Autumn 2 Week 2
Our star of the week this week is the superb... Sophia
This week, our focus for star of the week is 'Mutual Respect' and we were looking for someone who shows kindness and respect to those around her, not only in the classroom but also the rest of the school. Sophia was an obvious choice as she always thinks of others and has become our 'right-hand woman'. She is exceptionally well mannered and helpful at all times and is the perfect example of someone who shows mutual respect to everyone. Well done Sophia!
Autumn 2 Week 1
Our star of the week this week is the amazing... Nazilla
This week, our star of the week focus has been presentation, so we have been looking out for someone whose handwriting is always beautifully neat in every piece of work.
Nazilla was the obvious choice, and it is clear to all of us that she puts a lot of love and effort into her work, regardless of the subject. Not only is her work neat, but she also tries to add extra depth to her work, which makes it a joy to read.
We are very proud of Nazilla and she is a wonderful role model to others in the class.
Autumn 1 Week 7
Our star of the week this week is the brilliant... Reuben
This week, our star of the week focus has been behaviour, both inside and outside the classroom. Reuben was an obvious choice for us all as, not only does he have impeccable manners and is an incredible friend to the children in the class, but he also has a wonderful attitude towards his learning.
We can always rely on Reuben to complete any task we give him, and his work is always incredibly detailed and well considered. It is clear he wants to showcase what he has understood from the lesson, and this always shines in every piece of work he produces.
We cannot fault him for his behaviour, and he is an excellent role model to others in the class. Reuben… we’re very proud of you!
Autumn 1 Week 6
Our star of the week this week is the excellent...Emmanuel
This week, the children have voted for their star of the week and Emmanuel proved to be a popular choice in the class. Here are the reasons for them choosing him:
"He is the perfect role model and a super star."
"He works very hard."
"He is a good person who always helps out in class, when we can't find something and he always helps his team."
"He always tries hard in class and helps everyone."
"He is a curious person and made the perfect presentation for St John Paul II prayer and reflection. He is the perfect example of the Catholic Virtues and impressed our teachers with his work."
"He did wonderful slides for the prayer and reflection and does an excellent job of helping St John Paul II to get housepoints."
"He always helps people and is kind to them."
Autumn 1 Week 5
Our star of the week this week is the lovely...Leila!
This week, we have been looking for someone who truly demonstrates Catholic Social Teaching in Action, and Leila was our obvious choice. We think she is a special ambassador for Solidarity as she shows true leadership and teamwork in everything she does. Leila is exceptionally hard working, and this is shining through in all her classwork. She is keen and eager to help the others in the class and we have heard this through many Seesaw tasks, where she can be heard prompting the others to help support their learning. This always brings a smile to our faces and warms our hearts immensely. We believe she is the perfect example of someone who shows her commitment to others and promotes the need to work together for the greater good. Well done Leila.
Autumn 1 Week 4
Our star of the week this week is the exceptional... Emmanuel!
This week, we have been looking for the person who displays our Catholic Virtues of Curious and Active and there is one person that stood out, which was Emmanuel. He is always curious to learn more and will be active enough to go out and find information for himself. He actively challenges himself to learn more and even completes extra work at home to help him achieve even more than the work he is set in class.
Well done, Emmanuel! Keep it up!
Autumn 1 Week 3
Our star of the week this week is the marvellous... Mark!
This week, we have been working hard to be as active as possible and each team has been competing in a Moki challenge, to get as many steps as possible in one day. We were not surprised at all when Mark was our highest scorer as he loves to move all day.
Not only has Mark been incredibly active, but he has also brought a lot of smiles to our classroom. We are therefore delighted that he is our star of the week for Autumn 1 Week 3 and we hope that his smiles continue throughout Year 5.
Autumn 1 Week 2
Our star of the week this week is the super... Soela!
This week, our focus for the star of the week has been presentation and we have looked carefully at all the children’s work, to see who is working hard on their presentation. Soela immediately caught our eye and she has completed every piece of work carefully and beautifully, focusing on not only the presentation, but also the detail.
We are delighted that Soela is our first star of the week and are confident she will continue to do well this year.
