Star of the Week
Each week, we celebrate a Star of the Week who has shone brightly in our classroom, with a different focus each week to ensure every child has the opportunity to receive this special recognition. Certificates are awarded during our Friday assembly, which we warmly invite you to attend. Additionally, the Stars of the Week enjoy a treat and a drink with Mr. Carroll and Mrs. Hensman on Monday afternoons as a special reward for their achievements.
22.11.2024 - Grayson!
The children of Year 2 recently voted for whose handwriting they felt had improved the most, and they chose Grayson—and we couldn’t agree more! While Grayson’s handwriting was never “messy,” the progress he has made is truly remarkable. His development of a pre-cursive font and the overall beauty of his handwriting are amazing to see. Grayson should be incredibly proud of his work, just as we are!
15.11.2024 - Jace!
We have chosen Jace this week as he is a wonderful friend to everybody which is something we are looking for during Anti-Bullying Week. He is kind, caring and supportive which makes him a great role model. Well done, Jace. Keep it up!
8.11.2024 - Miller!
We have chosen Miller this week for his improved presentation in Maths. He is trying really hard to make sure his digits are in the correct boxes and his work is laid out clearly. We are very impressed. Keep up the hard work, Miller!
18.10.2024 - Florence!
Florence has been chosen as our Star of the Week for consistently demonstrating impeccable behavior in Year 2. She has shown kindness and respect to both her classmates and teachers, setting a positive example in everything she does. Florence’s dedication to following classroom rules, her readiness to help others, and her enthusiasm for learning have truly stood out. Her responsible attitude and polite demeanor make her a joy to have in class, and we are all so proud of her accomplishments and growth this week. Well done, Florence!
11.10.2024 - Nahom!
This week, the children in Year 2 voted for who they wanted to be Star of the Week. The majority chose Nahom and here are the reasons why:
'He plays with me.'
'He is fun to play with and he helps others.'
'He is my friend and plays with me all the time. He's the smartest boy ever and he has a waterproof watch.'
'He is kind to me'
4.10.2024 - Callum!
This week, we are proud award Callum with Star of the Week! He has truly embodied the Catholic Social Teaching theme of Community and Family by consistently helping those around him. Callum reflects thoughtfully during lessons and actively considers how he can use his gifts and talents to serve others. Anyone who sits next to him in class is very lucky, as he goes out of his way to ensure they have everything they need to succeed. I can always count on Callum for a helping hand, so this recognition is very well-deserved. Well done, Callum—keep up the fantastic work!
27.09.2024 - Grayson!
This week's Star of the Week is awarded to Grayson for his outstanding demonstration of our half-term's Catholic virtues: active and curious. Grayson has shown a deep commitment to his learning, both in and out of the classroom. During lessons, he consistently works hard, asks thoughtful questions, and reflects on what he has learned. His curiosity extends beyond the school day, as he continues to explore and research the topics covered in class at home. We are incredibly impressed by Grayson's dedication, and he is truly deserving of this recognition. Congratulations, Grayson!
20.09.2024 - Cohen!
This week, our Star of the Week focus was MOKI Mover! We were focusing on keeping active and tracking our steps on our Moki bands this week. Cohen really stood out to us with his enthusiasm for anything exercise related. It did not surprise us when he reached almost 10,000 steps on Thursday! Not only this but Cohen has settled into Year 2 so well. He is so helpful, kind and hardworking. He's even been given the responsibility of Badge Monitor. Well done, Cohen. Keep it up!
13.09.2024 - Aurora!
This week, our Star of the Week focus was on presentation, and we are thrilled to give this award to Aurora for her exceptional efforts. As handwriting becomes more challenging in Year 2 with the introduction of cursive writing in preparation for Year 3, Aurora has truly excelled. She has embraced the new writing style with enthusiasm and dedication, consistently producing beautifully presented work in every lesson. We are amazed by the quality of her cursive writing at such an early stage in the year. Well done, Aurora—keep up the fantastic work!
