UNICEF: Rights Respecting School
Introducing the Convention on the Rights of a Child (CRC)
The Rights Respecting School Award is an initiative run by UNICEF UK, which encourages schools to place the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child at the heart of its ethos and curriculum. A Rights Respecting School not only teaches about children's rights; it also models rights and respect in all its relationships, whether between children or between children and adults.
UNICEF works with schools in the UK to create safe and inspiring places to learn, where children are respected, their talents are nurtured and they are able to thrive. Our Rights Respecting Schools Award embeds these values in daily school life and gives children the best chance to lead happy, healthy lives and to be responsible, active citizens.
If you're not sure you can remember all of your rights as a child, take a look at the poster below!
These can also be found in our classrooms.
